It was another year where Russian born rider, Viktor Kulakov excelled in eWinner 1 League in Poland. Last year with Unia Tarnow, he topped the league with a 2.425 heat average. This year, racing with run away leaders, eWinner Aptar Torun, he came second with 2.361.
Torun Win Promotion
In the end, Torun’s league victory was only by four points, but their +/- was an incredible + 240 in comparison to second place Start Gneizno who had +64. And to put it in start contrast, they scored 338 more points than Bydgoszcz who came seventh in the league. The winner’s narrowly lost three of their last five matches of the season – all away from home. They twice lost 46:44, and once 47:43.
The high scoring naturally lead to that four of the top seven riders belong to the club – Jack Holder (1st, 2.625), Kulakov, Chris Holder (4th, 2.300) and Tobiasz Musielak (7th, 2.121). That made the last named rider the highest scoring Polish rider in 1 League.
Jack Holder’s top season
Jack Holder’s commanding performance in the eWinner1 must also be seen alongside an incredible improvement in performance in Ekstraliga riding with Gorzow.
Last year he scored just 1.422 for Torun which put him in 36th position overall. This year the 23 year old has not raced in the UK or Sweden and that could be part of the difference which saw him become the top scoring Australian. He finished with 2.052 p/h that put him in 11th place overall. He deservedly got a wildcard place at the last two SGPs in Torun and perhaps will have been disappointed with coming away with just 12 points from those two meetings.
