Probably more fans will be able to sit at the stadium in Vojens during the Grand Prix 2022 round in September. Danish activists are expanding the stands, they want to rebuild it.

In recent seasons, the Vojens Speedway Center has rented additional stands for large events. The rental costs amounted to 340,000 crowns at one time. Speed1way, the company that manages the facility, now wants to expand the stadium permanently. Until now, the facility’s capacity was 1,560 seats and 14,000 standing places.

– If we want to organize large events, expansion is necessary. The new stand will allow us to increase the number of seats to 3232. The new stands will also be mobile, but they will be our property. We will be able to fold and unfold them at any time – says Jacob Olsen, facility director.

The total construction cost of the new stand would be about 4.9 million crowns.

– I hope the new stand will be ready for the Grand Prix in September – adds Jacob Olsen.
