Silver medalist of the Individual Junior World Championships, Mads Hansen, is leaving OK Bedmet Kolejarz Opole. One of the best youth riders in the world cannot complain about the lack of offers, and although a few days ago it seemed that he would compete in Falubaz Zielona Góra next season, the paths with the relegated rider from PGE Ekstraliga diverged a bit. Now the Dane is much closer to the Landshut Devils team.

Both sides had been negotiating the terms of the contract for several days and it seemed they would come to an agreement. However, this did not happen, and – what is interesting – the obstacle was not finances, but formal issues. The chances of Falubaz contracting the Dane have now dropped to almost zero.

So Mads Hansen decided to start talks with another club, and the choice fell on the newcomer Landshut Devils. In Bavaria, the rider has similar financial conditions, he is also a favorite in the fight for a place in the squad (as a U24 rider) with Michael Hartel.

And the Devils are preparing a pretty good line-up – they have already agreed the terms of contracts, incl. with Dimitri Berge, Kai Huckenbeck and Martin Smolinski, and manager Sławomir Kryjom announces that they have not said the last word on the transfer market yet.

Let us add that Mads Hansen performed twice at the track in Landshut in the recently ended season – in the main round and in the final of the 2nd Speedway League. The first time his OK Bedmet Kolejarz Opole defeated Devils 54:36 (the Dane then scored 7 points and two bonuses in five starts), and in the final they lost 39:51. Hansen spent the night before the second meeting on a crazy journey with Krosno, but that didn’t stop him from scoring 5 points and 3 bonuses in four heats.
