Daniel Bewley’s recent decision has saddened fans in the UK. British rider decided that, like the world’s leading riders, he would start in the Polish and Swedish leagues. Mark Lemon, the guardian of the Belle Vue Aces team, understands the decision of the speedway rider, but is also disappointed with the regulations that apply in the Polish league.

The regulations limiting the starts of ekstraliga riders are in force from this year’s competition. Speedway riders racing for the PGE Ekstraliga have the right to choose only one additional club. In the case of Bewley, this time it will be Smederna Eskilstuna.

“I must say it’s been quite a journey, but we understand and respect the fact that Dan is a young man looking for new challenges in 2022.

‘’And whilst we are disappointed about losing him because of circumstances forced by the Polish regulations, Dan has ticked almost all of the boxes at the club in such a short time at Manchester.

The 22-year-old has done great job in the domestic league this season. He was an extremely important figure in the Aces scored a lot of points in Premiership matches. Eventually, the Belle Vue team took second place in the competition. Only the Panthers from Peterborough turned out to be better.

“He has become a huge part of this club since the moment he first put on our race jacket for the Colts, and subsequently for the Aces too.

“I’m sure I speak for all of us, the owners, management and supporters, in saying thank you to Dan for his great services to Belle Vue. He will be genuinely missed both on and off the track.

The managers of the Aces team hope that this is not the last chapter in the history of Bewley and the Manchester team. There will always be a seat in Belle Vue for a Betard Sparta rider.

“We will, of course, be keeping tabs on his progress and should any future opportunities present themselves, the door will always be open for him to return to the Aces.

“We look forward to that day and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours in 2022.”
