Tonight in Toruń, Bartosz Zmarzlik took his second world championship in a row.

The 2019 World Championship was 8 points ahead before the meeting started meaning he needed to be at least three places above triple World Champion, Tai Woffinden.

He he was able to finish the job off despite pressure from both Woffinden and Swede, Frederik Lindgren who stated in third just three points behind the Brit.

Lindgren has an exceptionally good night at Toruń, a track that has not favoured him before. But tonight he won the qualifying rounds with 13 points.

The three met in Heat 2 and then again in semifinal, which proved to be the decider.
Lindgren did his bit to win the heat, but despite being in last place through turn one, Zmarzlik charged his way through the field on the back straight into second place. He nearly took first place, but Lindgren held his position with Zmarzlik second. But wit Woffinden coming in third, it was all over and the Pole took the 2020 Championship.

And then in a dramatic final which saw Lindgren stop on the start line, Zmarzlik did what a world champion should, and fought his way forward to win Round 8 of the SGP series in Toruń, the final one of 2020.

Zmarzlik was understandably ecstatic saying that he never could have dreamed on this one or two years ago.
He is the first person to win back-to-back finals since Nicki Pedersen in 2009 and one of just nine in speedway history who has done this including legend, Tony Richardsson.
