Both teams came to game with win their opening match but Rybnik were unable to race with Michael Jepsen Jensen who tested positive for COVID-19 in Denmark.

Nonetheless, the visitors took the upper hand with a 7:11 lead after 3 heats after wins for Kacper Gomolski (RBK, heat 1) and Wiktor Kulakov (GDK, heat 3). The two would go on to top score for their teams with 11+1 and 14 respectively.

But the home team continued to trail until heat 7 when the pair of Rasmus Jensen and Krystian Pieszczek took a 5:1 to level the scores at 21:21.

But when the pair were back on the shale just two heats later, they were unable to take the advantage and instead it was visitors Rybnik who again took the lead with a 2:4 victory from Sergei Logaczaw and Gomolski.

In the next four heats the teams traded 5:1s and raced a pair of 3:3 meaning that going into the nomination heats, Rybnik continued to lead by a slender margin of just 2 points.

And in Heat 14 it was Gdańsk’s duo of Jensen (11+1) and Pieszczek who were able to crack their opponents taking a 4:2 victory to level the scores 42:42 before the final heat.

With everything to play for in the final heat Rybnik looked in control with Golomski heading up a 5:1 with teammate Logaczow in second. But Gdańsk’s Polish-Russian duo did not give up as Kulakov took second place. However, the 2:4 seemed inevitable- unless your name is Jakub Jamrog (pictured). For the second week in a row he showed a never-say-die attitude chasing for the one point to equalize the match. And just as in Heat 1 last week against Tarnow, the Pole passed his opposition on the line to make it 3:3 in the heat, 45:45 in the match and, most importantly, took a point for his team.
