24-year-old Swede Joel Kling decided to end his speedway career. His decision will be officially announced on Friday. It’s definitely quite sad story if we take under consideration that few years ago he was one of the pillars of Motor Lublin before the club was promoted to PGE Ekstraliga.

– The most important thing in practicing this sport is that it is fun. Unfortunately, I lost it. This whole game of speedway cost me too much sacrifice and time. I haven’t ridden too well in recent years, but I have definitely given my best. Speedway is fun when everything comes out. In my case, the decision is also a matter of money. I don’t want to sacrifice for this sport everything I have. In Sweden, the popularity of speedway is declining and clubs have less and less money. Speedway costs more than it gives. I don’t know if I will come back to this sport one day. I definitely need to distance myself from this as soon as possible. I want to get rid of the equipment as soon as possible – says the Swede in the fields of the Daily Dagens.

Interestingly, when asked about the best moments of his career, Kling didn’t think too long. It was best in Polish club, Motor Lublin, definitely.

– The best was my debut in Lublin in the 2018 season. I scored eleven points and two bonuses then, being the team’s best rider. The second good performance was in the same season and Dackarna’s game against Vastervik. Then I scored a full set of points. I was dreaming about it when I started my adventure with speedway. In 2018, I was the fastest in my career – says Kling.

In his career, Joel Kling, among other things, won a silver medal in the Team World Cup in the 2017 season.
