This morning it has been announced that Peterborough will face Wolverhampton and Belle Vue will take on Sheffield in the upcoming play-off semi-finals. In a planning meeting held by all four clubs it was revealed that both Peterborough and Wolverhampton were planning on choosing one another should either finish top of the standing in the regular season, allowing dates and venues to be confirmed.
Wolverhampton will host Peterborough on Monday, with Sheffield facing Belle Vue at home on Thursday, September 30. Wolves will travel to Peterborough on Monday, October 4, for the second leg before Belle Vue face Sheffield in Manchester on Thursday, October 7 with all four matches being televised on Eurosport.
The announcement sets up a mouthwatering end to the season. Undoubtedly whoever progresses from the semi-final between Wolverhampton and Peterborough will be favourites to go on and lift the title, but both Belle Vue and Sheffield will be out to cause what would be a big upset.
