We were hoping to spread some good news this time of the year. For example that Grzegorz Zengota had successfully completed rehab and his injury is just a distant memory and he will be back racing first thing next year. Unfortunately, it’s not all hunky-dory. Zengota needs help, but being as humble as he is, he will not be going around asking for it.

Last summer Grzegorz Zengota had a dream to be back on the bike by October this year, not even racing but just some loose practice laps. He was hoping that his badly broken leg, which he injured riding motocross in Spain, will heal enough for him to start contemplating returning to professional speedway. The fact is, he is facing another hospital treatment in the New Year and there is still a long road to recovery ahead of him.

We have listened to the speedway fraternity and we thought we wanted to get on board. We all have to help Zengi, who spent all of the last season trying to get back to fitness and has worked hard rehabilitating the broken leg. We owe this to the rider who has always been a perfect example of a role model. Always professional, he was still in speedway, working as a TV expert or writing his own stuff, he was there for us when we needed him. Now in this hard time, we have to be there for him. We know about Szymon Wozniak’s idea to collect some funds among the riders themselves, which was very well received but this is just a drop in the ocean. This is why we have opened a charity fund for Grzegorz Zengota. At the same time, there will be an auction of some speedway related memorabilia and authentic speedway artefacts. Those gadgets and other objects will be donated by the riders themselves and we will be announcing them on our website.

Let’s all help Zengi!
