A big event in Germany. Speedway found its way to the pages of Die Welt, one of the largest daily newspapers on our western border, and all thanks to fourteen-year-old Hannah Grunwald, who takes her first steps in speedway.

The Christmas edition of Welt am Sonntag has a full page devoted to speedway, which describes the fascination of the young German competitor with the speedway sport. Let us add that the last time the German speedway found its way to the pages of the most widely read newspapers was probably in the era of Egon Müller’s successes, i.e. several dozen years ago.

– Her father took her to the speedway, Andre. Instead of jumping on inflatable castles, the girl became so fascinated by motorcycles that she started practicing this sport herself, with great success. At the age of six, she had her first children’s competition license. As activists from Wolfslake say, where the player trains, her peers may soon have problems with winning the competition with Hannah. The activists of the club located on the outskirts of Berlin count on a good performance of the player during this year’s world championship in the mini-speedway at home. The organizers do not hide that they count on the attendance of over a thousand fans at the competition. The player herself played volleyball and rode horses in the past, but it was speedway that fascinated her until the end – writes one of the most widely read German journals.
