#GORLUB

After last week’s outstanding win away at LesznoBartosz Zmarzlik’s Gorzow hosted their first home match today against Lublin. For the visitors it was their first match of the season after positive COVID tests caused their opener to be postponed.

And it was Gorzow who took command with four 4:2 wins in the first 7 heats to lead 24:18.

However with Mikkel Michelsen coming in as tactical reserve for Lublin to ride alongside Grigori Laguta in Heat 8, the team’s top names did their bit and took a 1:5 to reduce the deficit just 2 points.

But Lublin could not turn the match and Gorzow took no less than three 5:1 heats to bury their opponents. Naturally, double World Champion Zmarzlik won his two final heats on the way to a 15 pts maximum, meaning he has only dropped one point in two games. Teammate and Slovenian SGP rider, Martin Vaculik also took a paid maximum with 13+2 as they ran away with the match, 51:39.

The only other riders to score double figures were both Danish. For GorzowAnders Thomsen with 11+1 who continued his great form from last week to again be the team’s third highest scorer. For their opponents, it was Michelsen who did his job for the defeated Lublin with 10.
