Lidsey outclasses 2 league
When it comes to the few English speakers in 2 League, the first word has to go to Australian U21 World Champion, Jaimon Lidsey, who outgrew Rawicz where he scored 2.440 at the same time as having a breakthrough season at Leszno. In the Ekstraliga he scored 1.787 placing him in an impressive 23rd ahead of a glittering cast of riders including, for example, compatriot and former World Champion, Chris Holder

Fienhage make a good first impression

One of Lidsey competitiors at the U21 World Championships was Germany’s Lukas Fienhage. He was not the highest scoring German in the league – that was Poznan’s Kevin Woelbert with 2.213 (9th). But what distinguished Fienhage was that he was top scorer for the Wolfe Wittstock team (1.884). He finished in 14th at his first showing at this level and you can be sure that his youth and quality will have been noticed.

Bright future for Danish speedway
For the Danes it was also a youngster who will have caught headlines. That’s because it was as U19 competitor, Marcus Birkemose who scored 2.225 putting him in 8th place.

Hjelmland is only Swede
The only Swede racing in 2 League was Filip Hjelmland. He also raced for Poznan picking up a 1.583 placing him in 22nd on heat average. That would indicate that he actually had a much better season in Poland than on Swedish shale for Vetlanda. In his home country he finished in 47th with just 1.216 p/h.
